Giacomino Drago is the youngest of eight children from the small town of Galati Mamertino in Sicily’s Messina region where the family grew and made almost everything they ate; from pressing olives to make olive oil, to making fresh cheeses, to watching his father make wine from their own vineyards.

Remembering 20 Years Of Your Home Away From Home

As we say goodbye to Il Buco, we would like to extend our thanks and blessings to our wonderful patrons and staff. We will always remember the fine food, yes, but also the irreplaceable sense of famiglia. There was nothing better than enjoying fresh homemade pasta, delicious osso bucco, or a glass of wine while surrounded by familiar faces. Our story began with two friends, Giacomino and Andrea, who dreamt of bringing Italian comfort food to Beverly Hills. Our dream was realized in this cheery little eatery that we named Il Buco. It was the joy we got from running Il Buco that inspired us to continue to grow, bringing fine food to patrons like you across Los Angeles.Although we have closed this chapter, we will always make sure our restaurants are a place where you and loved ones can come to share laughter and conversation over delicious, comforting food. We will never stop being your home away from home. While we will always cherish the moments that we shared together at Il Buco, we also hope that we can continue make new memories at one of our other locations. We would warmly welcome the opportunity to serve you at Giacomino Drago’s Restaurants in Beverly Hills; Il Pastaio, Via Alloro, Piccolo Paradiso and Andrea Bullo’s Restaurant Moonshadows Malibu, or any one of our many restaurants across Los Angeles. We will never forget the little details that made Il Buco so special – from the iconic orange Vespa on the porch to the waiters who greeted you by name. Giacomino and Andrea will always fondly remember where they started – here at Il Buco on the corner of Robertson and Wilshire.

Thank you.
